This Privacy Policy explains how Wisdom Made Easy Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England & Wales, collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit wisdommadeeasy.com, subscribe to the WISER newsletter, or get in touch with us. It also sets out your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We are the “controller” of your personal data for the purposes of UK data protection law. If you have any questions, contact us at wisdommadeeasy@gmail.com.

In short: we only collect what we need to send you the newsletter you asked for and to reply to your enquiries. We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies, and we never sell your data.

1. The personal data we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address (and, where provided, your name).
  • Enquiries: your name, email address, the subject of your enquiry and any message or details you choose to include.
  • Bookings: if you book a call, the details you provide to our scheduling provider (see “Who we share your data with”).

Information collected automatically

  • Technical & usage data: such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and working.
  • Cookies: we use only strictly-necessary cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health, ethnicity or beliefs). Please don’t include such information in enquiry messages.

2. How we use your data and our legal bases

Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on:

  • Newsletter: to send you the WISER newsletter you subscribed to — consent (which you can withdraw at any time).
  • Enquiries: to respond and discuss working together — steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interests in responding.
  • Running the site: to operate, secure and improve it — our legitimate interests.
  • Records & compliance: to keep records and meet our legal obligations.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those against your rights and freedoms. You can object to this processing (see “Your rights”).

3. Marketing

We only send you the WISER newsletter if you have subscribed. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell or rent your details to third parties for their own marketing.

4. Who we share your data with

We use a small number of trusted service providers (“processors”) who process personal data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:

We may also disclose your data if required by law, to comply with a legal obligation or valid request from a public authority, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of our business (in which case we will ensure your data remains protected).

5. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK (for example, in the United States). Where your personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place — such as UK “adequacy” regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — so your data receives an essentially equivalent level of protection.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics. We may keep some information longer where the law requires it.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • be informed about how we use your data (this policy);
  • access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to our processing in certain circumstances;
  • data portability (receive your data in a portable format);
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and
  • not be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects (we don’t make such decisions).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at wisdommadeeasy@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free, and we won’t treat you differently for doing so.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work with reputable providers and limit access to your data to what is necessary.

9. Children

The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other sites

The site may link to third-party websites and social media. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices — please review their policies before sharing your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Please check back periodically.
